Christmas Eve Trail Marathon and Half, Sapiston

Single loop trail marathon or out-and-back half marathon. This route takes in paths and byways through Euston Estate as well as King's Forest and some small local roads.

PARKING                                             

Limited parking available at the village hall, when this is full our marshals will direct you to the overflow parking down nearby private road Hilly Close (approximately 300m from the hall) by kind permission of Euston Estates. You MUST NOT park in the village, the road is very narrow and attempting to park there will obstruct residents and traffic, please only park where directed by a marshal.

Marathon 8:00am, Half 8:30am

TIME LIMIT                                         

You must have completed your run by 3pm

WHAT'S INCLUDED?                         

Refreshments at checkpoints, finishers medal, donation on your behalf to our charity partner, Gatehouse Bury St Edmunds, mince pie at the finish! All of our runs up to marathon distance have a minimum of two first aiders present. 

MINIMUM AGE ON RACE DAY         

Participants must be 18 years old

MANDATORY KIT                               

This is a winter run, please dress accordingly. Runners MUST carry/wear a waterproof jacket with taped seams, capacity to carry a minimum of 500ml water, a hat (buff is ok) and gloves, a foil blanket, basic first aid kit and fully charged mobile phone (with the RDs phone number saved). Please wear footwear suitable for muddy conditions, we recommend trail shoes. We operate cupless events, so please bring one with you.

In accordance with England Athletics and the TRA rules, we do not allow running with dogs – sorry!

We do not permit running with headphones or earbuds that cover or sit in the ear – some of the route is on roads and byways open to traffic and it is important for runners to be aware at all times.
